The rubber met the road in Mansfield this past weekend with only two of our Sailors placing in the 36 team tournament. Leading the way were captains Trevor Boyd (160 lbs.) and Tyler Bath (220 lbs.). Trevor wrestled extremely well grinding his way to the finals with wins over Bay (1-0), Loudonville (Fall 4:46), and Anthony Wayne (7-3) wrestlers before falling to a returning state place winner from Norwalk. Tyler finished 4th at 220 lbs. in a very talented field of wrestlers. He had wins over Sandusky (9-2) and Norton (Fall 3:37) before losing to the 5th ranked wrestler in division 1 (7-5) in the semis. He bounced back with a win in the consolation semi-finals over Bay (6-2) before falling to the 7th ranked wrestler in division II is his consolation finals match. Brandon D’Egidio (120 lbs.), Levi Jamison (182 lbs.), and Chris Bennett (195 lbs.) all contributed a win a piece within their respective weight classes.
