The Vermilion varsity boy’s basketball teams season came to an end Tuesday night, after a second half comeback fell short against the Lexington Minutemen by a final score of 46-43.
The Minutemen got off to a hot start taking control of the first two quarters of play and took a 30-19 lead into the locker room. The Sailors came out strong in the second half, and with help from a 15-0 run in the third quarter, the game was tied up at 34 apiece heading into the fourth. The Sailors had many opportunities down the stretch but the Minutemen capitalized late and ended the Sailors tournament run in the district semi-finals.

Seth Hurd chipped in 9 points and pulled down a team high 7 rebounds. Seniors Eli Balek and Ethan Habermehl contributed on the defensive end all night in their final game for the Sailors.
