The boys junior varsity team fell to Sandusky Perkins 42-39 to wrap up SBC action.
The Sailors junior varsity team got off to a slow start as they fell behind early. It wouldn’t be until the second quarter of play when they finally got a rhythm, and they used that to grab a 22-20 lead at the break.
The Sailors were able to keep up the momentum in third, but the Pirates kept things close. The Sailors saw their lead grow to 34-30 heading into the fourth. It would be the fourth quarter when the Pirates got things going and the Sailors just didn’t have an answer. The Pirates would outscore the Sailors 12-5 in the final quarter to grab the 42-39 victory.
Ethan Hendrickson led the Sailors with a team high 16 points. Carter Klausing added 8. Gus Matheson chipped in 7. Ethan Young finished with 6. Justin Wagner ended the night with 2.
The loss drops the junior varsity squad to 5-16 on the year and they finished 2-10 in SBC play. They return to action Tuesday night for their season final at Clearview.
