The boys junior varsity team used a huge fourth quarter to knock off host Margaretta 53-32.
During the first half of action it looked like it this game was going to be all Sailors. The Sailors got off to a hot start when they poured in 15 points in the first quarter, while holding the Polar Bears to single digits. The Sailors cooled down in the second quarter, but once again their defense was effective as they limited the Polar Bears to 5 points in the quarter en route to a 24-14 half time lead.
The Polar Bears flipped the script coming out the break. The doubled up the Sailors 16-8 in the scoring column, and they cut the Sailors 10 point half time lead to 2 heading into the fourth. That lit a fire under the Sailors as they dominated the fourth quarter holding the Polar Bears to 2 points, as they exploded for 21 of they own, as they were victorious 53-32.
Zach Jones paced the Sailors with a game high 16 points. Hunter Etienne and Matt Saegert were right behind Jones’ 16 points, as they each poured in 15 points. Ricky Kearns added 4 and Chad Rich finished with 3.
