The boys junior varsity squad fell one point shy of the fourth quarter comeback as they fell to the Pirates 49-48 in conference play.
The Pirates jumped out to an early lead on the Sailors but the Sailors looked to right the ship in the second quarter as they got into an offensive rhythm. The Sailors trailed by 7 at the break.
The Pirates used a 17 point quarter to take a 41-26 lead heading into the fourth quarter. That 15 point lead was evaporated by the Sailors as they exploded for 22 points. However they fell just one point shy of completing the fourth quarter comeback as the Pirates held on for the win.
Ethan Hendrickson led all scorers with 18 points. Andrew Hendershot netted 15 points. Gus Matheson chipped in 9. Corey Larkins and Cam Logue rounded out the scoring with 3 apiece.
With the loss the junior varsity team falls to 2-9 (1-4 SBC Lake). They return to action Friday night when they travel to Tiffin Columbian.
