The boys junior varsity team used a big defensive fourth quarter, to knock off the visiting Edison Chargers, 46-33.
The Sailors got off to an early first quarter lead, which they maintained throughout the majority of the first half, but they found themselves 3 to the good after 1. The Chargers were able to cut into the Sailor lead in the second quarter, but the Sailors still led 22-20 at the break.
Coming out the break, both teams found their stride offensively, but the Sailors were able to extend their lead to to four heading into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter of play the Sailors were able to hold the Chargers to 2 points, and pushed their lead to 13, as they defeated the Chargers 46-33.
Zach Jones and Matt Saegert each finished with a game high 16 points. Ethan Young chipped in 6, and Hunter Etienne added 5. Chad Rich rounded out the scoring with 3.
With the win the junior varsity improves to a perfect 8-0 in the SBC and 9-5 overall. The Sailors will return on Wednesday as they travel to Clyde to take on the Fliers.
