OHSAA Courageous Student Award

The Ohio High School Athletic Association has established a “Courageous Student” award. The award is intended to recognize a deserving individual who has been involved in, or supportive of, the interscholastic athletic program and who deserves recognition for courage. This year’s recipient is: Camryn Colahan


Coach Ryan Ladd (High School Coach) and Terry Anders (Middle School Coach) are still looking to fill roster spots for the 2020 cross country season. The High School team opened up training runs this past week, and will continue to host group training runs each Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday until the first official day

OHSAA Scholar Athlete Award

Junior Sailors Volleyball Camp

The Vermilion Volleyball Program is hosting a youth skills camp for students entering grades 3-9. The cost will be $40 and will be collected at the door payable by either cash or check made out to Vermilion Local Schools. The camp is open to Vermilion Local Schools students in grades 3 through 9. NFHS National Award of Excellence

The National Federation of State High School Associations National Award of Excellence is awarded to one male and one female senior student who have exhibited qualities that embody good citizenship, good moral character, and good sporting behavior. OHSAA Archie Griffin Sportsmanship Award

The Ohio High Schoo Athletic Association strongly supports good sportsmanship among the youth and adults in our schools and workplaces. This award, named for two-time Heisman Trophy winner Archie Griffin, is presented each year to a male and female student who have been outstanding in their efforts to promote sportsmanship in their school and community.

Two Earn The Sailor Trophy

The top athletic award in Vermilion Sailor Athletics is the Sailor Trophy. The Sailor Trophy goes to a senior that has earned 9 or more varsity letters in their high school career.
