Sailors News · Sailors STING the Flyers

April 9th, that was the day JV Sailor Softball left Clyde’s field feeling they were the better team but lost 11-8. So April 28th was marked on their calenders, as a statement game for the young Sailors. They met the challenge, jumping out early with aggressive base running and some timely hitting….staking a 10-0 lead. Clyde made it interesting but the Sailors held on to win 12-9.

Hailey Skala’s eyes light up when she plays Clyde, as she went 3-3 tonight with 2 doubles and 2 RBI’S. In 2 games vs Clyde she went 6-6 with 5 doubles! The Sailors middle infield of Hannah Welch and Hannah Piwinski combined for 4 hits both having 2 apiece. Then there’s Bridget Green, who hits the ball, puts her head down, and just RUNS….As she smashed a ball that led to a stand-up triple and scored on a throwing error from her hit.

Gracie Porter toed the mound for the 2nd straight game and picked up another Win. She continues to pound the strike zone and let her defense play, also had her bat make some noise with 2 hits.

Sailors climb to 6-5 on the season, with weather permitting will be in action again tomorrow hosting Sandusky.
