Sailors News · Sailorway Wrestling takes 5th place at Holiday Tournament

Congratulations to the Sailorway Middle School Wrestlers as they took 5th place at their holiday tournament Monday December 21st. Wrestling with only six wrestlers. they started off facing a usually tough Norwalk Trucker team and won 5 out of 6 head to head matchups to win the dual match 36 to 30. The Sailors next faced perennial powerhouse Amherst Middle School and dropped a tough match winning only two head to head match ups, but losing two other very close match ups. The third match up of the day saw the Sailors face the combined team of St. Paul and Edison and loss a tough dual match to them as the Sailors lost three matches, one of which was an injury default. The final match up of the pool play round saw the Sailors take on the Parma Shiloh team and win another close dual 30 to 24 with the Sailors winning their three head to head match ups. In the championship round, the Sailors faced off against the other Parma school Hillsdale and pulled off the win for 5th place. The Sailors won all six of their head to head match ups. Wesley Penton, Oliver Roy and Ben Guendelsberger all went 4 and 1 on the day while Jonathon Brass, Logan Peterson and Aaron Walker all won three of five matches on the day. The Sailors are next in action on January 16th as they travel to Sandusky to face the Blue Streaks.
