Vermilion senior Jacob Krausher has signed a letter of intent to continue his
baseball career at The University of Akron where he will pitch for the Zips. Jacob
has been a three-year starter for the Sailors and in 2019 posted a 3-3 record with
53 strikeouts and a 3.17 ERA. In the 2019 season, Jacob’s biggest high school
pitching win was a complete game win over Shelby in the District Championship.
Additionally, Jacob was one of the Sailor’s leading hitters as a sophomore when
he hit .322 with 21 RBI’s.
Jacob plays for the Lake Erie Warhawks in the summer. In the 2020 season, he
was 5-1 with 50 strikeouts and a 3.30 ERA. Jacob’s fastball has been clocked at
90+ miles an hour.
The University of Akron is coached by former Cincinnati Reds third basemen
Chris Sabo. The Zip’s coaching staff is very confident that this recruiting class
will make an impact on the program.
Jacob is the son of Jeff and Ashley Krausher.
